| since us PS3 owners don't get the new megaman 9 for a few more days I bought "Megaman 3" from dundas disk downtown, i've allways been a regular customer there, but the guys a bit of a swindler, but I respect him for it, his prices are steep on classics, but it's the only place to find them. I traded him two really bad DS games for this one awsome NES game, he deosent get too much business for the nes stuff so he thought it was a good deal. megaman 3 is pretty hardcore so far, you really have to replay the levels over and over again pretty often, but thats the fun part :D. | | |

once again, I've been reminded that I own a blog, and have dedicated myself to at least attempt to make regular posts as to my adventures in anime and merchandise, and occasionally notes on my life.
I recently came by a REVOLTECH figure of the "Lazengann"(right), the first mech in the anime Gurren Lagann that really gave the Gurren Lagann a good fight, resulting in the lagann ejecting from the dammaged gurren to fight the pilot of the Lazengann after it too was destroyed. During that fight the lazengann gained a place in my heart, it's sharp aspects, its speed and strength are nothing short of marvelous. This particular figure comes with one of the best stands i've ever seen for a figure, this stand attaches to the tail, so neither feet are required to be on the ground, and yuou don't get that "stick up ass" look like you get from such figures as the orig. Gunbuster.
In less descriptive news i've finally started building my HG "the-O", only have the feet and ankles done, but I've dedicated myself to building it during idle anime club (At fanshawe) time, just to reserve some time to it, and mabey get some of the members interested in the exciting progression of a model kit.
Regarding non-mecha, it should be noted that this year at anime north I purchased 1 statue, 1 figure, and 1 model kit. The figure was that of the cute variety, the "Danbo" (photo to the right) from Azuma's manga "Yotsuba&", the series portrays the day-day life and general cuteness of a little girl named yotsuba who is new to the big city, the "Danbo" is a sort of cardboard costume Yotsuba's older friend Ena and had made for school, yotsuba merely assumes this is some sort of robot, halarity follows. The figure is top grade, right down to the texture of the plastic, very rough to colect light upon itself in a cardboard-like manner, a cute little bonus is that the eyes light up, just like in the manga
haha okay, explaining this ones gonna be a bit weird, this is "Poison" (photo right) a character from the ancient capcom "Final Fight" series, in which you (a man) go around beating up people with some sort of goal involving taking down some crime (it's actually really quite the fun game, i'd recomend it), in the Japanese original game, "Poison" (a woman) showed up as one of your enem'y, after the release of this game, it became extremely controvercial because of the violence against women in the game, to mend this, for the US release, Poison was changed to "Sid" a punkish looking man. But instead of calling back all the Japanese games, Capcom declared that Poison was not in fact a woman, but a pre-op Transsexual. Hahahaha but thats not why I bought the figure! while I was aware of his interesting history, Poison was deffinitly the best statue at the show, the texture and precise coloring were to-die-for, the fact that he was a man has been somthing i've been trying to ignore.
lastly, I purchased the tieren: taozi version (photo right), I really do like its daring color scheme, and the fact theat its the 00 version of the zaku, I think it'll look great with my two green tieren's | | |
| I havent been on here in forever! not that anyone reads this cept mabey faithy, but I think I'l appreciate this kinda thing in the future! so I'm still waiting up for my uncle to finish up the paperwork for my summer job, I'll be working with the company he works for. They do alot of corperate computer stuff, so theres no real concern about personal files, or records (coperate files are ussually kept on a server) so we have pre-formed hard drives for each business with the applications they need loaded for thier cash computer, so half the battle is getting the case open (the other half is knowing). Should be alot of fun, I'll be doing alot of things on my own, otherwise I'll be shadowing one of thier on call guys, apparently 80% of the calls are to pharma-plus locations in the area. as far as models go, I'm currently finishing up the Armored Core "CRONUS" model I bought earlier, all I've got left is the lower arms. It's looking crazy good, my favorite model yet, deffinitly the most detailed model since my (still uncompleted) MS-06S Char's Zaku Master Grade kit. I also am still looking forward to my 1:144 HG type: "the-O", and hoping to plan a better alternative to the ZEONG's front ass. Me and the guys went bowling last night, were deffinitly gonna try and do that more often! bowlings alot of fun, especially when everyone sucks! :P | | |
| awright, so just to run through my sucessfull kits since september Late September 2006 Hyaku Shiki (1:144) ($30) - one of my favorite's at the time, the hyaku shiki is simply breathtaking. I'll post pictures later, but this kit was done pretty well, the only major hastle was not stripping the chrome when cutting away the extra plastic. Early October 2006 Master Gundam (1:100) ($15)(Pacific mall) - encase the colors did not hint, I'm a pretty big char fan, I'm pretty close to getting all his MS's, i'll post my checklist at the end of the post. Anyways, I build this early october, and really got into sandind, so I made sure to paint it, and since this was a non-char model, I decided to have some fun and do an alternate paint job, the theme was "master gundam - super mode". I'm almost complete it, but this is a picture from half way through painting it (below), proclaimed "Master Canada", it wasent intentional, I had just painted all the black parts white, and we all decided "It looks.....like canada". anways, I painted the red parts gold, and now just hotta do details on the face, mabey fill in the panel lines. I got this model from the mall beside the pacific, in the store with the nice old guy ^^.
Late October 2006 Zaku IIs (Char's custom)(1:144)($17)(Chinatown Center) - I was dieing to do this, deffinitly my favorite ms ever (the site is specifically themed to it's colors). A really fun build, the eye ACTUALLY swivels back and forth, genius. I dont plan to repaint it, at least anytime soon, but in EVERY kit, theres allways that one color of plastic that reacts sooo bad a knife, or sandpaper, in this kit it was the brown, so I took all the brown parts and re-sprayed them in an identical brown. I think this'll remain my favorite for a while. I got this model from the place beside the two hair shops at the Chinatown Center. Early November 2006 Gundam Maxter (1:100)($15)(Pacific) - decided to get this one after seeing how awsome the master kit was, they had a whole deal goin on for the G Gundam kits, all of them for $15, Rafi got Shining and God gundam. It turned out reeally nice, I'm not exactly done it yet, I just made all the parts for his whole "shirtless boxer" mode, so when i get bored i can do up his whole "normal" mode. Currently working on: Rick Dias (Char's custom) (1:144)($15)(Chinatown) - this has been somewhat of an ongoing project for me, it's really annoying, 100% glue-together, vintage stuff, but I"'m making sure to finish it off before I start anything else Models waiting to be completed: Zeong (1:144)($15!)(Pacific)(Snap together) GMII (1:100)($10)(Ebay-arived)(Glue together >_< ) Z'Gok (Char's ofcourse)(1:100)($8!)(Chinatown Cen.)(Glue >_< ) Hyaku Shiki + Mega Bazooka (1:144)($20)(ebay- in transit)(snap) Nirvash (type zero)(1:144)($15)(ebay- in transit)(snap) Escaflowne (1:144)($10)(ebay- arived)(snap) so that should put me up to date for now, now I can just update when I do somthing ^^ good oh! and heres everything char's piloted, and how close I am to owning them all ^^ [ ] Zaku II [x] Zaku IIs [x] Z'gok, char cust. [ ]Gelgoog, char cust [x] Zeong (incomplete) [x] Rick Dias char cust [x] Hyaku shiki (x2) [ ] Sazabi
